Govt plans to fund movies which made for getting prestigious awards: MoS I&B

Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore today said, Government is planning to fund the movies which are made for getting prestigious awards like Oscars and BAFTA for the country.<br/><br/>He said, Prime Minister had given approval in principle for the same. He was addressing the 4th Edition of CII Big Picture Summit 2015 at New Delhi.<br/><br/>He said, as part of ease of doing business, the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), will function as a single window mechanism for facilitating shooting of foreign movies in India. He also urged private industry to help government in setting up of a Animation and Visual Effects University for promoting technology in movie making.<br/><br/>Talking about Digitalistaion, Minister said, 3rd and 4th Phase of cable T.V. digitalisation will be completed by 2016.<br/><br/>CEO, Prasar Bharati, Jawhar Sircar and Special Secretary J. S. Mathur in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting were also present at the event.
