In a move to boost bilateral economic relations, India today decided to allow Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, from Pakistan. According to a release issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, after reviewing the Foreign Direct Investment Policy, the government has decided to permit a citizen of Pakistan or an entity incorporated in Pakistan to make investments in India, under the government route. The FDI has been allowed in sectors or activities other than defence, space and atomic energy.
