Centre has directed the DDA to confiscate 183 crore rupee bank guarantee furnished by Emaar-MGF – the project developer for Common Wealth games, after irregularities were found in the construction of the Games Village. According to an official spokesman, the move by the Urban Development Ministry comes after the DDA submitted its report on the issue.AIR correspondent says, Urban Development Minister had written a letter on the 7th of this month to DDA on the reports about serious complaints against the project developer private company. The complaints include irregularities, delays and deficiencies in carrying out the project. It said that the execution of the project adversely affected not only the DDA but the Commonwealth Games 2010 as a whole. The DDA was given a week's time to file a report with the Urban Development Ministry and it had submitted its report on Tuesday.
