Government has approved 19 proposals of Foreign Direct Investment, FDI amounting to over Rs. 2,326 crore.The proposals are related to pharmaceuticals, broadcasting, single brand retail trade and Construction and Development. An official release said that the highest 1,100 crore rupees FDI proposal of the Walt Disney Company of Singapore was cleared to infuse additional capital in UTV Software Communication Limited. Besides, nearly 725 crore rupees FDI proposal of Reckitt Benckiser (India) Limited was also cleared to acquire 23.72 per cent paid up share capital from its Reckitt Benckiser, Singapore Limited.
