<span style="color: #222222;">Richard Samans, Director of the Research Department of the International Labour Organisation has said that the world could learn from India in implementing various social security programmes for the labourers. &nbsp;<br />''<br />''Talking to AIR, Mr. Samans said, the Government of India over the years has been experimenting and innovating some very interesting programmes with regard to providing income to a larger section of the population. He said, even those people who do not have regular form of salaried jobs in India, are registered and get access to social assistance types of benefits, which the world can learn.<br />''While pointing towards a rise in inflation, he said that the COVID-19 pandemic has made many jobs precarious. He added that people have lost their jobs and as a reason, this needs to be an important priority for the G-20.<br />''<br />''The International Labour Organisation has been calling for an increase in social protection or social security, employment insurance, and health insurance as many people are struggling without labour income or lower wages, said Mr. Samans. He advocated that the wages of people should rise in line with inflation.</span><br />
