Government has issued the notification for implementation of Majithia Wage Boards' recommendations for increase in the salaries and allowances of journalists and non-journalists of newspapers and news agencies.

Official sources said that the Labour Ministry has notified recommendations.

The Union Cabinet had on October 25 approved the recommendations which will benefit more than 40,000 employees. The revised wages will be applicable with effect from July 1, 2010.
