The government today reiterated that it is not in favour of censorship and fully supports the right to freedom of speech and expression. Talking to the media in New Delhi, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ms Ambika Soni called for self regulation and said that the ground rules laid down in the Constitution should be followed to exercise the fundamental right. Reacting to the arrest of cartoonist Aseem Trivedi over sedition charges, Ms Soni said, the national symbols must be respected.
