<span style="color: #222222;">The government is not considering any proposal for dual citizenship in the country. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Ministry of Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said that a total of 1,36,441 people gave up Indian citizenship and took citizenship of other countries. He added that more than six lakh 76 thousand people gave up Indian citizenship during the period of 2015 to 2019.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Rai also said that more than 36 lakh 99 thousand foreigners registered as Overseas Citizenship of India cardholders during the past 15 years. He added that a total of 1,91,609 foreigners were registered as OCI cardholders last year.</span><br />
