Government said that there is no question of Home Minister P Chidambaram’s resignation on 2G spectrum allocation issue. Talking to reporters outside Parliament on Thursday, Law Minister Salman Khurshid said that Trial Court has not passed any order against Home Minister P Chidambaram. Criticizing the BJP for demanding Chidambaram's resignation, Mr. Khurshid said that they should first study the order properly.
Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas R P N Singh accused the opposition for deliberately stalling the proceedings of Parliament. Accusing the BJP of double speak, he said that they are not willing to discuss the issue of common man. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said that court has no where named Chidambaram in its order. He added that BJP is creating ruckus in Parliament without verifying the facts of the case.
Congress today said that trial court has not given any order against the Home Minister P Chidambaram in 2G spectrum allocation case. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Rashid Alvi said that BJP is misleading the nation by blowing this issue out of proportion.
Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today demanded immediate resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum allocation scam issue. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Joshi said that Mr. Chidambaram’s role should be thoroughly investigated. He said that Chidambaram can misuse his office to influence the investigation in the matter.
NDA Convenor Sharad Yadav said that they will continue to boycott the Home Minister in Parliament. Meanwhile CPI leader Gurudas Das Gupta said that Parliament should be allowed to function to enable discussions on important issues like price rise and black money.
