The government has reiterated its decision that no coal block allotment will be cancelled before completion of investigation being conducted by the CBI. He said that an Inter-ministerial group is also looking into the matter and its recommendations are awaited.
Talking to media persons this evening at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was trying to divert the attention of people from its alleged misdeeds by disrupting the Parliament and making demands for cancellation of allotments of coal blocks.
He said if coal blocks allotments will be cancelled without proper investigation the allottees will approach the court and get relief from there and the BJP was trying to benefit their people by this way.
He categorically denied that none of the coal block allottee is his relative. He said if his relationship with any allottee will be proved he will like to leave the politics otherwise persons levelling such charges against him should be ready to face the music.
The Coal Minister said that demanding resignation of the Prime Minister was totally unjustified and disruption of Parliamentary proceedings was undemocratic and betrayal with the interests of common men.
He alleged the BJP for adopting double standards on this issue as inviting biding for coal blocks allotments was opposed by the chief Ministers of BJP ruled states. He said inquiry is going on by CBI and every thing will be clear very soon. He accused the BJP for misguiding the people on the issue.
