Government is considering a suitable legislation to take appropriate action in regard to renaming of several High Courts. Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda informed the Lok Sabha today Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have sent proposals for changing the name of High Courts. <br/><br/>Maharashtra government has proposed the name of Bombay High Court as Mumbai High Court. Similarly, West Bengal government proposed Calcutta High Court as Kolkata High Court and Tamil Nadu government proposed Madras High Court as Chennai High Court.
