Govt mulls to publish list of persons convicted for crime against women & children on CCTNS

The Government is contemplating to publish the list of persons convicted for crime against women and children on the Citizen's Portal of Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS). <br/><br/>Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi said this in the Lok Sabha today. In a written reply, she said over 13 thousand cases of rape of children below 18 years were registered during 2014 across the country. <br/><br/>Underlining that the cases of crimes against children are growing year after year, the minister said the National Crime Records Bureau has begun collecting data under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act since last year. She informed the House that repeat offenders can be controlled by exposing the names of convicted persons.
