The Government has modified the Member of Parliament Local Area Developemnt, MPLAD Guidelines to permit construction of Railway Halt Stations. According to an official release, the modified guidelines were approved by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme implementation. As per the guidelines, MPs can utilize the funds under the MPLAD Scheme for the construction of Railway Halt Stations to facilitate the local population for easy access to boarding and deboarding from the train.
