The government is making all out efforts to meet the gap between the demand and the supply of the coal in the country. Replying to supplementaries during the question hour in the Rajya Sabha today, Coal Minister Sri Prakash Jaiswal said the Coal India Limited (CIL) has chalked out an action plan to set up 19 coal washeries to ensure better quality of coal. The Minister said the work on 2 washeries has been completed and the work on other 17 washeries is in progress. Mr Jaiswal said 25 per cent of the drilling work has been completed in the two coal blocks allocated to Coal India by the Mozambique government.
