Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that government is committed to empower minorities socially, economically and educationally. He said, his Ministry is moving forward with this commitment successfully. <br/><br/>Mr Naqvi was speaking during launch of Interactive Voice Response System of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and conference of its State Channelising Agencies in New Delhi. He said, government is making all out efforts to effectively implement the welfare schemes for minorities. <br/><br/>He said, any negligence in implementation of welfare schemes for minorities will not be tolerated.He also underlined the need to simplify procedures for sanctioning of loans.On the occasion, a toll-free number to provide information regarding programmes and schemes of NMDFC was was also launched. <br/><br/>An official release said, NMDFC has been assigned the targets to disburse 467 crore rupees this fiscal to its agencies for lending at concessional rates to the eligible poor members of the minority community.
