Government has made the registration procedure for all micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) simpler. MSME Ministry has come out with a one-page Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum for the registration to promote ease of doing business. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra said, the new registration process is online for which Aadhar number is mandatory. He said, based on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suggestion in his Mann Ki Baat programme last year, his Ministry notified a simple one-page registration form to enable ease of registration. Mr Mishra said, there would be no fee for filing the Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum and no restriction on filing more than one Memorandum using the same Aadhaar number. The Memorandum will be filed on self-declaration basis and no supporting document will be required.The Minister informed that total number of MSMEs in the country is around three crore 61 lakh, out of which 96 per cent are un-registered. He said, more than 800 MSMEs have registered after the new registration process was launched on 18th of last month.
