Govt makes fresh offer for talks to end Air India pilot's strike

The Government has said that it is open to talks with the agitating pilots. In a bid to end the ongoing strike, the Civil Aviation Minister, Mr. Ajit Singh appealed pilots to return to work asserted there will be no victimisation. He hinted to take back 101 sacked Air India pilots on a case by case basis.

The appeal comes after Delhi High Court issued contempt notices on 67 pilots and Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) spearheading the agitation for disobeying the court orders.

Following the day's developments, the IPG said they are willing to straightaway talk to the Minister if the 101 sacked Air India pilots are taken back.

The Joint Secretary of the Pilots Association said that they do not want their core demands to be met right now but an assurance on taking them back from the Minister is necessary.

In a related development, Air India Management has extended its contingency plan to the 1st of next month.

The national career is operating a bear minimum number of international flights by clubbing flights to destinations in Europe and the US.
