Government is making all efforts to address the problem of power shortage in the country and no power crunch is likely during the coming festive season.Minister of State for Power K C Venugopal said in New Delhi on Wednesday that the unexpected rainfall at coal mining areas and strikes in some states caused a big gap in demand and supply of electricity. He however, said that the power situation is improving and it will be normal by Diwali.The Minister informed that the NTPC Plant at Ramagundam in Andhra Pradesh has resumed generation at full load. The functions at the plant were affected by a strike which was called off on Tuesday. He added that the NTPC has also been asked to speed up the annual maintenance work at its Talcher Power Station in Orissa which should be completed within a week.
