The government has launched several new initiatives including setting up of a water purification plant under Namami Gange projects in Mathura – Vrindavan today.The projects were launched in presence of Union Water Resources Minister Ms Uma Bharti, Union Surface Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari ,Petrolium Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Mathura MP Hema Malini.<br/><br/>Under the new projects a water recycling plant will be set up at Mathura Refinery were contaminated Yamuna water will be recycled and purified and made available for drinking.An Mou was also signed between Water Resources Ministry and Petroleum Ministry on this occasion.The 40 crore rupees project will have capacity to purify two crore liter drinking water daily for Mathura and Vrindavan.<br/><br/>Speaking on this occassion the Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti said as part of Namami Gange, the cremation and other ghats will be upgraded to ensure cleanness in Yamuna river.Free LPG connection to three hundred poor families were also distributed on this occasion.<br/><br/>Speaking on this occasion Surface Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari said that shippung transport will start between Delhi- Agra waterways.He said water sports is also being planned to promote tourism with business as well in this area.
