<span style="color: #222222;">Agriculture Ministry has launched several initiatives as run-up to the International Year of Millets 2023 to create awareness about the ancient and forgotten golden grains. A contest for designing a comic story, with the theme 'India's Wealth, Millets for Health' has been launched on 5th of September. It is intended to showcase the health benefits of millets to raise awareness among the masses. The contest will close on 5th of November this year. <br />''<br />''The Millet Startup Innovation Challenge has also been launched on 10th of September. This initiative encourages young minds to offer technological and business solutions to the existing problems in the millets ecosystem. This Innovation Challange will remain open till 31st of January next year. The Ministry said, a competition for an audio song and documentary film on the importance of millets, will also be launched.<br />''<br />''To create domestic and global demand and to provide nutritional food to the people, Government of India spearheaded the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA resolution for declaring 2023 as International Year of Millets. The proposal of India was supported by 72 countries and UNGA declared 2023 as International Year of Millets in March, last year.<br />''<br />''The MyGov platform has become a very important and successful medium for raising awareness through organisations of various competitions. The Ministry said, the engagement on MyGov will play an important role in helping to make it a people's movement. A host of competitions have already been launched and many more will be launched on the MyGoV platform, to capture the imagination and creative spirit of the country.</span>
