Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched a scheme for awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to inspire artists and budding inventors so that they can protect their creations and inventions.<br/><br/>An official release said, taking forward the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy 2016, the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management launched the the scheme for IPR Awareness – Creative India; Innovative India. The scheme aims at raising IPR awareness amongst students and others to inspire them to create, innovate and protect their creations and inventions across the country in next three years.<br/><br/>The scheme also aims at conducting over four thousand IPR awareness workshops in academic institutions and sensitisation programmes for enforcement agencies and the judiciary. Workshops will cover all vital IP topics including international filing procedures, promotion of Geographical Indications and highlighting the ill-effects of piracy and counterfeiting.
