The government on Thursday launched Sakshar Bharat Portal with an objective for superior planning, monitoring and impact analysis of Sakshar Bharat Mission being implemented under National Literacy Mission Authority across the country.Launching the Portal at a function in New Delhi, the Human Resource Development Minister Mr Kapil Sibal said that the portal will also help in accessing information about the scheme and its implementation in States at various levels. He said that the information in public domain will also facilitate citizen feedback and correction through public participation and social audit.AIR correspondent reports, Sakshar Bharat which was launched in 2009 envisages to enhance the literacy levels in the country focussing women, schedule castes and schedule tribes , minorities and other excluded groups in rural areas.
