The Government on Saturday launched the Comprehensive Online Patent Filing Services to simplify the process and eliminate transactional errors. The new web-based service up grades the existing e-filing system to facilitate all the prescribed forms and fees for registration of Patents.Inaugurating the new services in Delhi, the Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Saurabh Chandra said the initiative aimed at achieving a complete paperless virtual office.He said the users now can own and manage personal folders in the Patent Office environment and they need only a Class III digital signature and an internet banking account for e-filing.He further said the payment is enabled through the State Bank of India and Axis Bank at present while more will be added in future.Nearly one third of the total applications received till the end of November have been filed online during the current year.
