The Government launches on Friday National Policy to prevent HIV/AIDS at work places. Addressing the 43rd session of the Labour Standing Committee in New Delhi, the Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge said that the policy based on the principle of human rights, aims to guide the national response to reduce the impact of the epidemic at work places. The minister said that despite the economic meltdown, 58 million new jobs opportunities will be created during the 11th plan period. Mr Kharge said that additional employment opportunities will be generated mainly in the service and manufacturing sector. He said that an environment for inclusive growth has been created and government accorded high priority to ensure the welfare and well being of workers. The Minister of State for Labour Mr Harish Rawat said that about 18 lakh families have been covered under the Rashtriya Swasthiya Bima Yojna in the unorganised sector. Government has taken several initiatives for creating more jobs including setting up of skill development centers. The minister said that 55 million people will be given this training by 2022.<br/><br/>
