The government has initiated upgradation of tourism sector. For this, it has launched an initiative called MICE which is based on meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.<br/><br/>Replying to a question, Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma said his Ministry allocates funds to the States and Union Territories' administrations to develop tourism-related infrastructure. He informed the House that the Tourism Ministry has launched Swadesh Darshan scheme to develop time-bound tourist circuits in the country.
