The government has launched Grameen Vidyutikaran mobile application GARV-II in New Delhi today. <br/><br/>Launching the application, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said, GARV-II which is an upgraded version of its earlier version, hosts village-wise, habitation wise baseline data on household electrification on all states. <br/><br/>The Minister said, Power Ministry has set target of making 100 percent rural electrification by covering the uncovered 4 to 5 lakh habitations by 2019. <br/><br/>More than eleven thousand villages have already been electrified with the active support from state governments, REC, Discoms and Grameen Vidyut Abhiyanths. <br/><br/>Mr Goyal said, his Ministry is indebted to those five crore households which are yet to receive electricity in their homes. He said, every student, kisan, old aged, women should get electricity for India to become digital. <br/><br/>A Citizen Engagement Window 'SAMVAD' has also been provided in the App to enhance public participation.
