Government is taking steps to prevent loss of food grains due to use of spurious pesticides. In a written reply, Agriculture Minister Harish Rawat informed the Lok Sabha that qualities of the pesticides are monitored through 68 State Pesticides Testing Laboratories, which have a combined annual capacity of analyzing nearly seven thousand samples. In addition to this, there is one Central Insecticides Laboratory and two regional Pesticides Testing Labs in the country
