Govt killed 15 FARC members in Colombia

In Colombia, at least 15 members of the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) have been killed by government troops in an operation in the southeastern province of Cauca. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said that the operation, taken place in the town of Tacueyo yesterday was another major hit to the FARC. Santos said the raid was a joint operation against a little group known as the special forces of the FARC and that during the action a guerrilla was also seriously injured. He also reminded that yesterday was the third anniversary of the death of FARC top leader Pedro Antonio Marin, alias “Manuel Marulanda”. Santos said the guerrillas killed were part of the Sixth Front of FARC, Colombia's main guerrilla group and author of several attacks against military forces in recent months.
