During the year, several programs are scheduled to be held including a film-show on the history of the film society movement in Bangladesh, a  festival showing films made by people working for the Film Society Movement,  seminars, and workshops in 10 districts of the country among others. <br />''<br />''Popular Bangladeshi band 'Joler Gaan' enthralled the audiences with some of its hit songs during the inaugural programme. Fourteen film societies were presented with crests on the occasion to acknowledge their contribution in popularising films in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Film Society was given the diamond crest for its contribution to cinema in Bangladesh over the last six decades. <br />''<br />''National Award winner film 'Laal Morouger Jhuti' directed by Nurul Alam Atique and based on the theme of the liberation war of Bangladesh was also shown on the occasion.</span><br />
