Government has issued new guidelines to regulate air transport services in the country. Replying to a question on increasing aviation connectivity in the country the Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Vayalar Ravi said that the new Route Dispersal Guidelines will take into account the need for air transport services in different regions including the North East. He however said it is upto the airlines to provide air services to specific places depending upon the traffic demand and commercial viability. Replying to a question on payment of aviation fuel dues Mr. Ravi informed that the government infused 12 hundred crore rupees in Air India in January this year out of which four hundred and seventy five crore rupees were paid to oil PSUs.
