Govt is taking multiple steps to hone the skills of youth in 5G based technologies: Rajeev Chandrashekhar

Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrashekhar has said that government is taking multiple steps to hone the skills of youth in 5G based technologies and in Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, automation among others.<br />''<br />''In a written reply in Lok Sabha, he said, 5G TestBeds have been built in premier institutes like IIT Hyderabad, Madras, Bombay, Delhi, Indian Institute of Science and others with the support of the Department of Telecommunications.<br />''<br />''He said, the Ministry of Electronics and IT and NASSCOM have jointly initiated a programme called FutureSkills PRIME which aims to cover a target of 4.12 lakh beneficiaries over 3 years, which includes 4 lakh IT professionals, 10,000 government officials and two thousand trainers.<br />''<br />''The minister said, so far, around 5.63 lakh candidates have signed up on the FutureSkills PRIME portal and about one lakh 8 thousand candidates have completed their courses.<br />
