The government is effectively monitoring the implementation of ceiling prices fixed for coronary stents. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Lal Mandaviya said the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, NPPA, has fixed the ceiling price of the coronary stents last year. <br/><br/>He said hospitals, nursing homes and clinics utilizing coronary stents for angioplasty are bound to abide by the ceiling prices fixed by the Centre for coronary stents. Regarding the complaints about overcharging, Mr Mandaviya said NPPA has not found any actionable violation after examining about 40 complaints.
