Union Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athwale today said the Government is determined to provide constitutional status for OBC Commission. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad after reviewing with officials of various departments in Hyderabad, he said the related bill has been passed by the Lok Sabha during the last session.<br/><br/>Referring to a recent judgment of the supreme court relating to reservations in promotions, the minister said demands came from different quarters to continue reservations in promotions. <br/><br/>He said the Republican Party from which he got elected, will urge the Prime Minister to make a law to continue reservations in promotions. The minister opined that some amendments in Dalit Atrocities Act can be made to prevent its misuse.<br/><br/>He stressed the need to bring together Daliths, Muslims and also Hindu Daliths for achieving Social Justice.
