The government has said it is committed to provide comprehensive social security coverage to unorganised workers of the country. Labour and Employment Ministry said in a release that under Ayushman Bharat, these workers are provided health coverage. Life and disability coverage has been provided under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana  and Suraksha Bima Yojana. <br />''<br />''<br />''Cabinet has approved Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan pension scheme for unorganised workers whose monthly income is 15 thousand rupees or below. It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for entry age of 18 to 40 years with a provision for minimum assured pension of 3000 rupees monthly on attaining the age of 60 years. <br />''<br />''<br />''The central government shall give 50 percent share of monthly contribution and remaining 50 percent contribution shall be made by the beneficiary. This shall bring majority of the unorganised workers under the social security cover who are otherwise bereft of such safeguards.<br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports there are estimated 47.29 crore workers in the country out of which nearly 42 crore people work in the unorganised sector  and constitute 88 percent of the total labour workforce of the country. </span><br />
