Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government is committed to take India towards more and more insured society. Stating that social security has to be improved and we still haven't realized the importance to have adequate social security cover, he expressed the need of awareness regarding insurance policies throughout the nation.<br/><br/>He was addressing a function in Mumbai celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of LIC of India. Stating that the low coast accidental insurance policies are becoming more popular in weaker sections of our society, Mr. Jaitley informed that Health Ministry is all set to provide insurance cover of Rs. 1 lakh to 1/3 population of the country.<br/><br/>Various instruments such as life insurance, accidental insurance, crop insurance, health insurance are being introduced by government to convert India into insured community. <br/><br/>He also congratulated LIC for completing 60 years of successful and eventful journey. He mentioned that as an investor, LIC is very large contributor in India's growth story. He also said that while facing competitive environment, LIC had continued to lead the market, which is truly praiseworthy.<br/><br/>Union finance minister for state Arjun Meghawal was also present on this occasion. He suggested LIC to extend facility of Bima village to Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. Along with Union secretary for financial services Anjali Duggal, LIC chaiman S. K.Roy and Managing Director of LIC V. K. Sharma were also present on this occasion. LIC has announced special onetime bonus for all policy holders on the occasion of Diamond Jubilee celebration.
