Water Resources Ministry has invited suggestion on draft national water framework bill and model bill for conservation, protection, regulation and management of ground water. <br/><br/>The Ministry has uploaded the bill on its website, www.mowr.gov.in. The National Water Framework Bill provides a national legal framework based on principles for protection, conservation and management of water and stressed on natural resource. <br/><br/>The Draft Ground Water Model Bill is based on the principles of subsidiarity, equitable distribution in an integrated approach. <br/><br/>The State should act as a public trustee of ground water, which should be treated as a common pool resource to make sure that groundwater is protected, conserved, regulated and managed. The comments and suggestions on the bill may be send by 25th of this month.
