Government has invited Jat leaders in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana for talks. They are demanding reservation in Central Government jobs. Official sources said that Home Minister P Chidambaram and Social Justice Minister Mukul Wasnik will be holding the talks on behalf of the government tomorrow.Sources confirmed that the decision to hold talks with the agitating Jats was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi today. Attorney General Goolam Vahanvati was also present at the meeting. Earlier Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ashwani Kumar said in the Rajya Sabha that the Government will make a statement on the issue in Parliament tomorrow.
