Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said the government intends to direct the economy based on Natural Gas based energy supply and establish gas terminals and pipelines in South India for which the Centre is looking for states' support. Speaking at the Economic Editor's Conference in New Delhi, Mr Pradhan said Patna, Ranchi and Jamshedpur will be connected with gas pipelines under Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project. The Minister also said government has taken cognizance of the economic blockade in Manipur and will augment the gas storage facilities in the North East. Mr Pradhan also said Ministry has streamlined disbursal of subsidies and ensured it reaches the most deserving through the use of technology. He said government has established a new realm of start ups, encouraging entrepreneurship among the youth.
