Govt initiating internet based attestation system of employment contracts with UAE: Ravi

Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi today said that the government is initiating an internet based attestation system of employment contracts with the United Arab Emirates to sort out the problems of Indian workers there.

Addressing a meeting attended by representatives of all the state governments in New Delhi, Mr. Ravi said that India has also entered into bilateral labour contracts with Jordan, Bahrain, Malaysia, Kuwait, Qatar to protect the interests of the Indians working there.

The Overseas Indian Affairs Minister said that the government is taking effective measures to impart technical skills to the people going abroad. He added that the center has mandated Indian Council of Overseas Employment to train the work force according to the requirements of the international markets. Mr. Ravi also said that center will provide all the necessary funds to develop infrastructure in this regard.

The Minister also noted that all the state governments should create nodal departments to accelerate legal migration procedures. He added that the states should create a data base of Non Residential Indians for quick redressal of their problems.
