<span style="color: #222222;">The government today informed the Lok Sabha that 2,550 Khelo India Athletes have been identified under the Khelo India Scheme. In a written reply, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur said most of the Khelo India Athletes belong to rural areas of the country. The Minister said under the Khelo India Scheme, various initiatives have been undertaken to provide training and exposure at par with international standards, which includes training of Khelo India Athletes in accredited academies. These athletes participate in the Khelo India Youth and University Games, where the benchmark of technical conduct of international standards. Furthermore, these athletes compete with national and international athletes at various forums, which enhances their capabilities and strengthens the bench strength of the country for future national and international events. </span><br />
