<span style="color: #222222;">The government has informed that under Digital India Programme, the&nbsp;Ministry of Panchayati Raj is implementing e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project in the country to revamp the functioning of Panchayats and to make them more transparent, accountable, and effective. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister for Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh has said that the Ministry has launched eGramSwaraj , a simplified work-based Accounting application to address various aspects of Panchayat functioning. He also said, the Ministry has integrated e-Gram SWARAJ with Public Financial Management System for Gram Panchayats to make real-time payments to vendors and service providers. Mr Singh informed that currently, over 2 lakh 58 thousand &nbsp;Panchayati Raj Institutions have prepared Panchayat Development Plans for Financial Year 2021-22. Further, more than &nbsp;2 lakh 31 thousand &nbsp;Panchayati Raj Institutions have onboarded eGramSwaraj-Public Financial Management System Interface for the 15th Finance Commission.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The Union Minister also informed that BharatNet project is implemented to provide broadband connectivity to all the Gram Panchayats by laying optical fiber. He said, the scope of BharatNet has been recently extended to all inhabited villages beyond Gram Panchayats. Mr. Singh said that the targeted date for completion of the project is August 2023.</span><br />
