Govt hospital in Chennai to be named after Rajiv Gandhi

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi announced that the Government General Hospital at Chennai will be named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.Speaking to an appeal made by the Congress Party Whip, Mr. Peter Alphonse at the Assembly on Thursday, the Chief Minister announced the decision. Earlier, Mr. Peter Alphonse said that it was an appeal by the Congress MLAs since the body of the slain leader Rajiv Gandhi was kept at the Mortuary of the Government General Hospital in Chennai.
