The government has expressed hope that consensus will emerge amongst the political parties on Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, in retail sector.
Addressing the Delhi Economic Conclave in New Delhi this morning, Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee said the government has brought out the National Manufacturing Policy and the FDI in retail sector to boost the economy of the country.
He said that the Euro Zone crisis is continuing its impact on global financial matters which is likely to affect India as well. Asserting that India has strong economic fundamentals, the Finance Minister said that India has to invest in infrastructure sector for sustainable growth.
