The government today said that it periodically reviews the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) policy on the basis of suggestions received from stakeholders. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Minister of state for Commerce and Industry Niramla Sitharaman said review of SEZ is a continuous process. <br/><br/>She said there are many salient features of SEZ schemes including no routine examination by customs authorities for export/import cargo. Mrs Sitharaman also said SEZ developers also enjoy direct and indirect tax benefits.
