Govt has set a target to make India a global hub for drone: Jyotiraditya Scindia

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said that the government has set a target to make India a global hub for drone. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been determined that India can no longer can be a follower and it must be a leader in unexplored areas in the world.<br />''<br />''Civil Aviation Minister was addressing media after delivering his address on the second day of the ongoing 1st Meeting of Agriculture Working Group under India's G20 Presidency at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Mr Scindia informed that the government has done away with many cumbersome rules in the New Drone Policy announced in August 2021. He said, ease of business, ease of regulation and ease of registration have been brought in the New Policy. Mr Scindia added that with an aim to promote Drone Industry, the government has also introduced Production Linked Incentive, PLI Scheme and a number of companies have come for registration under it. He further added that the size of the industry has grown 6 to 8 times in the last one and half year.<br />''<br />''Civil Aviation Minister Scindia also emphasized that creation of demand is the key for the growth of Drone Industry and in this direction 12 line Ministries including agriculture and power are earmarked to mandatorily use drone technology for their future endeavours.<br />''<br />''Highlighting the importance of Agriculture for the world, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stressed on the need for adopting 3S strategy – Smart, Sustainable and Serving all for the agricultural ecosystem. He said, fo the growth of agriculture, the Narendra Modi government has enhanced the budgetary  outlays by over four times to more than 10 billion US dollar in the last eight years<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports that on the second day of the Agriculture Working Group meeting, G20 member countries and guest countries also held bilateral meetings focusing on the G20 agricultural agenda. Around 100 delegates from 30 countries including from G20 member countries are participating in the three day event which will conclude tomorrow. </span>
