Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot said government has done great work on inhibition of drugs. <br/><br/>Addressing a programme on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mr Gehlot said now societies are working to save people from drug abuse. <br/><br/>He expressed concern on drug abuse which can afflict persons of any age group and the youngsters, especially teenagers and the youth, who are particularly vulnerable to drug addiction. <br/><br/>The Minister said government and the civil society both have onerous responsibility to ensure that the potential victims are made aware of the perils of drug abuse.<br/><br/>Earlier, on Wednesday morning a mass awareness event was also organized at India Gate Lawns. It was attended by more than four thousand participants. <br/><br/>The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed annually on 26 June, since 1988.
