The government has capped the prices of 24 essential drugs used for treatment of cancer, HIV, bacterial infections, anxiety and cardiac conditions.The drug pricing controller, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority ,NPPA said in a order on its website.NPPA Chairman Bhupendra Singh said prices of 24 drugs have been reduced on an average of 25 per cent. In some cases the reduction is 10 to 15 per cent while for others it is up to 30 to 35 per cent.
