The US has assured that the interests of the Indian students will be taken care of. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister for Human Resource Development Mr. Kapil Sibal said that the government is fully seized of the alleged fraud practices and closure of Tri Valley University. He said that India expects the US government to take steps to prevent such universities from being set up and exploit foreign students. He informed the House that the External Affairs Minister Mr. S.M. Krishna visited the US and apprised the authorities of India's concerns. He said, it has been conveyed to the US government that the students who are themselves victims of fraud should be given adequate time and opportunity to transfer to other universities or adjust their status and if they desire to return to India.
