The Government has formed a core group to develop a curriculum for vocational training for automotive sector.Talking to reporters in New Delhi, the HRD Minister Kapil Sibal said that the core group will give its recommendations to the MHRD in three months regarding the course curriculum which is need based and caters to different aspects of the automobile industry. There is a huge shortfall in this sector.Highlighting that 56 per cent of India's economic growth comes from service sector, Mr Sibal said 39 million students pass out from class 12 annually but only one million of them get empowered through vocational education.This sector generates annual revenue of nearly Rs two lakh crore and provides opportunity for employment to at least 13 million people.
