Senior BJP leaders of Jammu and Kashmir will meet party’s national president Amit Shah in New Delhi today as the suspense over the formation of government in the state continues for more than ten days.

The efforts for the formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir are likely to gain momentum this week.
BJP’s national president Amit Shah already said that his party is looking at all possibilities. He has expressed hope that a decision will come anytime.
Peoples Democratic Party has hinted that it could go with the BJP for formation of a stable government but will not make any compromise with regional aspirations.
Both the parties have admitted informal talks regarding government formation.
On the other hand, the National Conference has clearly said that it is not discussing any sort of alliance with the BJP.
The PDP and the BJP have the strength of 28 and 25 legislators in the 87 member Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly.
The formal talks between the two parties will depend on the outcome of BJP’s today’s meeting.
Governor N N Vohra has set 19th January deadline for formation of the government in the state.
